IWC mark XV Supermarine Spitfire

Commemorative Watch Hyper-Rare!

The International Watch Company of Schaffhausen, Switzerland has created a fitting tribute to memorialize one of the tide-turning aircraft of World War II; the Supermarine Spitfire Mark XV. It is no coincidence that this Swiss watchmaker constructed this exclusive timepiece, since their relationship with Britain’s Royal Air Force extends back to the 1930’s. The new pilot’s watch differs from its forebears in that it has an automatic (self winding) movement and a 42 hour power reserve. The case features a soft iron insert which protects the movement from magnetic fields (engines, mobile phones, etc.). The black face is signed with the IWC logo and Schaffhausen text, and “Spitfire” is boldly emblazoned across the bottom. Luminous hands are of the “Poires Paris” type, and the second hand has a stop feature activated simply by pulling out the screw-down crown. Movement is IWC 37542 Calibre Automatic, and the watch is waterproof to 60 meters. This particular example is numbered 390 in a total production run of 1000 worldwide, (more description>>)
