The year 1978 witnessed the advent of a collaboration which would change the technology of watch making forever. Swiss manufacturer IWC, partnering with Porsche Design produce the world’s first titanium wristwatch; a feat previously deemed impossible due to the metal’s demanding characteristics. Porsche Design and IWC would continue to push the technical and aesthetic envelope in watch making for another 20 years before dissolving their partnership in 1998. Aeromobilia is pleased to offer this ultra-rare 1:43 scale model of the iconic Porsche 911 coupe, constructed entirely of sterling silver (with the exception of real rubber tires). Every detail is accurately captured, from the delicate windshield wipers, to the crisply cast wheels, to the fine etching on the headlight lenses.
